Funds to Get to TAHPERD
- Plan for following school year Budget in January – turn in a budget request to your principal that includes equipment needs and professional development requests like TAHPERD.
Ask your principal if:
1. Title II funds are available
2. Esser III funds are available
3. May you use your local PE budget
4. Have a small or non-existent budget? Ask if you can fundraise to grow your budget.
Here are a few ideas:
A. Sell Field Day shirts
B. Participate in American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge – not only do you raise funds for an amazing cause, but you can earn incentive funds that directly benefit your PE budget that can help pay for your TAHPERD membership & event travel costs.
C. While not a fundraiser per se, consider partnering with Kids Teaching Kids, if available in your area. KTK, as an incentive for participation numbers, will pay for your membership, AND registration & hotel at either Summer Conference or Annual Convention!
HINT – Sharing a pic of an activity you learned from TAHPERD – SAY THAT & thank those that helped you attend! People love to be publicly thanked!
