TAHPERD Past President Dr. Debbie Rhea – Webinar on Physical Education and Recess

Recorded Webinars are Now Available!

Texas Administrators’ Strategies for Quality Learning and Performance: Dedicated Recess and PE are Making a Difference

To recap: Earlier this month, DSHS (Department of State Health Services) and TAHPERD joined forces again to stress the importance of dedicated recess and PE in Texas schools. Dr. Debbie Rhea, Professor and Associate Dean of Health Science and Research at Texas Christian University, returned to address real world concerns in implementing this type of school change. Dr. Rhea brought in more Texas school superintendents and principals to provide insight into their experiences as they pave the way for other Texas school districts interested in implementing multiple recesses and daily physical education. Watch the recorded webinar to hear these Texas education leaders provide candid answers about why school districts need dedicated recesses and PE even though standardized testing is the outcome measure. Watch it now or share it with colleagues!
