The goal of the General Division is to provide instructional support for quality programming by becoming an effective advocate for the professions of HPERD and the association. The sections that make up this division are listed below along with a description and a list of the current officers. Elementary & Secondary School
Administrators Section
The goal of this section is to continue to offer quality administrative presentations / work-sessions that promote and increase opportunities to share strategies designed to strengthen and improve instructional programs throughout the state.

Jump Rope for Heart Section
The goal of the this section, in conjuction with the JRFH & HFH Committee, is to work with the American Heart Association staff for Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart programs to:
a. develop strategies to improve schools' participation in these programs
b. create the program for the JRFH & HFH Gala during the TAHPERD Convention
c. create and/or present programs at the TAHPERD Convention and Summer Conference on JRFH & HFH programs
d. work with the TAHPERD leadership to develop recognition and incentives to increase the participation of teachers in the JRFH & HFH programs.

Sports Management Section
The purpose of this section is to explore salient issues that impact business operations in the sport and fitness industries and their relationship to the other information, risk management, legal and ethical issues, administrative strategies, as well as current research focusing on a variety of specializations, and philosophical insights.
