POSITION: Master PE Teacher

SUMMARY: This position description is part of the Studies to treat or Prevent Pediatric Type Two Diabetes (STOPP-T2D). Baylor College of Medicine is one of seven sites across the US participating in STOPP-T2D research study.

This announcement is for a full-time position with employment through June 2009 is subject to periodic performance reviews and renewal of funding.

We are looking for a experienced PE teacher to help design and implement a new STOPP-T2D Physical Education curriculum in Houston area middle schools. The new curriculum focuses upon increasing activity time during regular physical education lessons. This is a three-year study to increase the amount of physical activity that children at 3 middle schools engage in during regular physical education lessons using the STOPP-T2d curriculum.

Experience

Earned doctorate with specialization in exercise science.  ABDs in final stage of dissertation considered.  College teaching experience preferred.
