2011 TAHPERD Convention Highlights

Thanks to the persuasion of President Barbara Waters and the generosity of 6 Past Presidents (Steve Furney, Mike Daniel, Marty Urand, Wendell Sadler, Lynn Luttrell, and Rich Almstedt), the opening General Session was the debut of the TAHPERD Insync Synchronized Swim Team.

The Second General Session was dedicated to American Heart and the Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart program. Special guests were honored for saving the life of their student using CPR and an AED. Brent Reese and Kristin Goodgion from Maus Middle School in Frisco ISD were recognized as heros. CLICK HERE to view their story and recognition.

The Second General Session also featured a young woman able to continue her life due to a heart transplant. Be sure to watch the left part of the screen at the end of the presentation to see Addi and her dad entering the stage. CLICK HERE to watch Becky's story on YouTube.
