Mario Reyna
President, 2010
Mario earned a Master of Education in Physical Education from the University of Texas – Pan American.  He was the physical education teacher at Zavala elementary in McAllen for twenty-two years.  Mario Reyna is currently the Coordinator for Health & PE in McAllen ISD. Mario has been an active member of TAHPERD for over twenty years.  He has served as regional representative and vice president of PE Division and has presented at numerous TAHPERD conventions and conferences.  As a hobby, Mario is a sports official.  As President-elect, Mario will chair TAHPERD's Finance Committee.

Barbara Waters
President-elect, 2010
Barbara received her BS in All-level Physical Education from Texas Tech University in Lubbock . She is currently in her 25th year of teaching physical education at Timber Creek Elementary for Livingston ISD. Barbara is passionate about giving her students the opportunity to volunteer and help save lives by participating in Jump Rope for Heart. Her students have raised over $208,547 for the AHA and their community in the last 20 years. Barbara has been a member of TAHPERD for 25 years and has been serving as a volunteer for 20 of those on committees, as a VP and on the Board of Directors. She counts it a privilege and honor to serve as President for the next 3 years.

P.J. Miller
Past President, 2010
Paula J. “PJ” Miller received her BS in Physical Education and her PhD in higher education administration from Texas A&M University . She also received an MS in Physical Education from the University of South Carolina .  PJ is currently a Clinical Professor and the Undergraduate Coordinator in the Department of Health and Kinesiology at Texas A&M University.  The last 23 years she has been at Texas A&M as a member of the Department of Recreational Sports and more recently (last 16 years) as a dedicated teacher in the Department of Health and Kinesiology. As President, Dr. Miller will chair TAHPERD's Executive Committee.

Emily Allen
Communications Manager
Emily Allen is a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Emily’s design experience spans a wide variety of genres, ranging from newspaper advertising at the San Antonio Express-News to logo and theme creation for Texas Nurse Practitioners. With the new logo in place Emily looks forward to further molding TAHPERD’s updated image.

Lynda Alvarado
Membership & Registration Manager
Lynda Alvarado joined TAHPERD in March 2005. She has 20+ years of experience working for educational association’s such as the Texas Association for School Boards and the Texas Association of School Business Officials. As membership and registration manager she is responsible for processing all memberships and registrations for the various conferences and convention.

Diana Everett
Executive Director
Diana joined TAHPERD in November 1999. She holds a doctorate in sport administration from Texas Woman's University and prior to moving into not-for- profit association management, she taught physical education, health, and biology and coached for eleven years at various high schools in Texas.

Lisa Fall, CMP
Director of Conventions & Meetings
Lisa Fall, CMP joined TAHPERD in February 1999, as the Director of Conventions & Meetings, responsible for the logistical planning/coordination of the association’s conferences and convention. Lisa began her meeting management career in 1990 and achieved the Certified Meeting Professional designation in 1995. She holds a BBA in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin.

The Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance (TAHPERD) is a not-for-profit professional association of individuals in the allied fields of health education, physical education, recreation, and dance.This Texas-based association is composed of over 4,500 professional and students members serving education from kindergarten through college. While most of our members are employed in public or private education, individuals representing interests in government and private agencies, business, and health care provision are increasing their voice in our membership. TAHPERD was founded in 1923 and is the only association in Texas serving education in all four of our disciplines—health, physical education, recreation, and dance.
